Captain's Report - 19 October

Published Mon 19 Oct 2026

Pennant News:

Last week the Level Play Teams (Monday games) had a bye, as did the Sharks Advantage team, so the Dolphins “pinched” a couple of the Sharks (Ian and Robin Lacey) totally within the Rules, and managed a very narrow win by only 2 hoops over the Monash Mozzies! But a win is a win!

This Monday starts with both Level Play teams “at home” and both to Monash teams.

On Thursday, the Dolphins travel to Lilydale, and Sharks also travel to Ringwood.

Good Luck to all teams.

Spring Opening:

We have certainly been blessed with fantastic weather over the last few days, and Saturday for our Spring Opening could not have been any better. It was great to see so many playing all day. What a scrumptious afternoon tea too, and thanks to all who contributed and helped during the day.

Archive of SCC Intra-Club Competitions:

For those who want to relive former victories or defeats, Robin Boyle has now uploaded the leaderboards and final results for all intra-club competitions held since September 2024. They can be found in all their colourful glory on the Members page of our website. You don’t need to log in to see them: www.sandycroquet.org.au

Club Championships:

A formal announcement about the Club Championships will go out shortly, but this is preliminary advice to set the dates aside.

The Championships will be held over two or three days in the week beginning Monday 23 November. We won’t be able to finalise playing days until we have a clearer picture of entries.

There will be three divisions and handicap cards are a prerequisite.

- Division 1 with 0-5 handicap

- Division 2 with 6-9 handicap

- Division 3 with 10 and above handicap

If you would like to enter but do not have a current handicap, please contact Andrew White at the club or Mobile: 0407867644 or Email: andrew.white1948@gmail.com. He will arrange for one of the handicap assessors to take you through the process.

There is no need to advise us yet, just keep the dates in mind and see about getting a handicap if you need one. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to ask me, Ray Davis or Robin Boyle if you have any queries or need specific information!

That’s all for now, Happy Hooping!
